Schultz Colgate graduate

Renate Christine Schultz has recently graduated from Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y.

Schultz earned a bachelor of arts degree. She is the daughter of Virginia M. Schultz.

Cutter on dean’s list

Andrew E. Cutter has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Stonehill College in Easton, Mass.

Cutter is a member of the class of 2009.

Knight excels at Colby

Benjamin P. Knight was named to the dean’s list for outstanding academic achievement during the spring semester at Colby College in Waterville.

Knight, who attended Westbrook High School, is majoring in mathematics. He is the son of Margaret Knight of Westbrook and Jonathan Knight of Worcester, Mass.

Perkins on dean’s list

Rosemary E. Perkins has been named to the dean’s list at Stonehill College in Easton, Mass., for the spring semester.

Perkins is a member of the class of 2009.

Historians name new officers

The Westbrook Historical Society recently elected a new slate of officers.

They are Donna Conley, president; Suzan Norton, vice president; Evelyn Meserve, secretary; Nancy Curran, treasurer and directors Eleanor Saunders, Diane Dyer, Al Waite and Jim Burrill. Rob Smith is the immediate past president.

The society’s museum is at 17B Dunn St., on the second floor of the Stephen W. Manchester Post 62 of the American Legion. The museum is open 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Mercy Hospital honors Harnois

Joan Harnois, RN, was recently named employee of the year and recipient of the North Star Award for 2005 at Mercy Hospital.

Harnois is a Westbrook resident.

Harnois started at Mercy in 1967 after graduating from Mercy Hospital’s School of Nursing. Harnois, who has worked in several nursing units at Mercy, is a tireless advocate for her colleagues at Mercy-Westbrook and an ardent supporter of the values in practice initiative at Mercy Hospital.

Sprague home from Iraq duty

Army National Guard Specialist Shawn M. Sprague has returned to the United States after being deployed to an overseas, forward-operating location in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Sprague is a mechanic assigned to the 152nd Maintenance Company in Augusta. He is the son of Wade A. Sprague of Buffalo, N.Y., and Laurie Ann Smith of School Street in Westbrook.

His wife, Mary Lou, is the daughter of Joe and Norma MacMahon of Old Stage Road, Arrowsic.

Sprague is a 2000 graduate of Morse High School in Bath.
