Owen Sinclair, of Windham, was awarded first place in the 2006 Youth Music Award Competition at the Saco River Music Festival held Saturday, June 10, at USM’s Corthell Hall.

As part of the prize, Sinclair will perform at the opening concert for this year’s festival, at 7 p.m., July 8, in Cornish. Phone 625-8603 for tickets and/or further information for all festival concerts.

Sinclair also was invited to be one of 26 participants, from six countries, in the Third Annual International Piano and Chamber Music Festival sponsored by the Portland Conservatory of Music, held June 22 to 30. He took part in master classes and nightly performances.
