Boy Scouts

Michael Mathews, David LeClaire and Irene LeClaire of Boy Scout Troop 51 in Windham, recently traveled to Camp Wah-Tut-Kain in Northwood, New Hampshire to attend the Order of the Arrow Northeast Section Conclave. The Order of the Arrow is the “National Honor Society” of Boy Scouting, and its members provide service hours to promote camping and Scout programs. While at the Conclave, Scouts from Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts attended training sessions, provided a presentation for Cub Scouts, elected new officers, and were entertained by video and live presentations produced by the Scouts. The local Order of the Arrow’s Madockawanda Lodge was presented awards for best newsletter, best Web site, and greatest number of service hours performed.

Food Pantry

The Windham Food Pantry is now open for seniors, at an extra time, Thursday mornings from 9-10a.m. and on Monday nights 5:30 to 7 p.m. This is on a trial basis to see how it works out.

Thank You

Barbara Muir would like to give a special thank you to all who donated pet food to the Windham Food Pantry on June 10. These donations sometimes make a difference between a person being able to keep their pet or not. As we all know, pets are very important to people and it’s devastating when someone has to give one up because of lack of food. So, these donations were very welcome and appreciated.
