After reading the article on the unauthorized use of the money from the Forest Street School and the old police station, I was amazed at how quickly the council, especially the president, put the blame on the mayor and the city administrator.

If this item went to the Finance Committee and then referred to the council, why didn’t the council make sure they got this item? I realize the Finance Committee and the council are the same people and maybe this should change.

After all, it is the council who has to approve all these TIFs coming through and apparently we are not getting the expected revenue from these to pay our bills. Why?

In addition to this, they want to now put two “not one” seven-story buildings on Saccarappa Park. Where are these people going to park? There has been mention of building another garage on the CVS parking lot. Who will pay for that?

I believe the council should have to accept their share of the blame on this one. After all, you are the ones making the mess in the city. I know you really believe you have done a terrific job and many people don’t agree with this. All you have done so far is get rid of the businesses that have been here for years and put the city in debt trying to get new business.

Come on, council members and get your heads out of the sand and realize what a mess the city is in. It’s getting worse after every meeting. So, instead of pointing fingers and trying to blame everyone else, look in the mirror and there’s a slight chance you might be surprised at the ugly picture you see.
