The Westbrook Fire and Rescue Department is pleased to announce the acquisition of a new vehicle to help members of the department with traffic control.

The van carries portable traffic control devices that can be rapidly deployed during emergency road closures and will be operated by the department’s fire police call company unit whose major responsibility is traffic control at fire and emergency scenes.

The purchase of the vehicle and all equipment was made possible through a state of Maine Homeland Security Grant.
