Editor,
Last week, I had the pleasure of attending Windham’s Adult Education graduation. It was truly an inspirational event. I commend the graduates on their hard work, and I would also like to thank the dedicated staff who have supported and nurtured the students’ success.
It takes a lot of courage to go back to the classroom. I know it was difficult 20 years ago when I went back to school to earn my Associate’s Degree, and I can only imagine how many more challenges there are today for working parents trying to further their education.
As a legislator, I believe in the best in education for the brightest futures, and that means ensuring that continuing education opportunities are available in our communities.
Windham Adult Education is a strong model of what programs should look like statewide. Director Tom Nash and his support staff work very hard to help every student find ways to meet graduation requirements on busy schedules and get the most from their classes. The faculty members do their best to accommodate a wide variety of learning styles as well as help students develop personally.
Students graduate from Windham Adult Ed with much more than a diploma. They leave with keys to new opportunities, and it comes from a true community effort on the part of the students, their supportive families, and staff that genuinely cares. I am proud that we have such a great resource in our area, and I wish the graduates the best in their future pursuits.
Sincerely,
Rep. Mark Bryant
Windham
