Taylor Burns, a junor at Scarborough High School, placed second in the one-mile race walk Friday at the Nike High School Outdoor Track and Field Championships.

Burns crossed the line with a time of 7 minutes, 20.11 seconds, finishing seven seconds behind the winner.

Scarborough classmates Erica Jesseman and Kaitlynn Saldanha also participated in the meet, which was held in Greensboro, N.C.

Jesseman finished fourth in the 5,000-meter run, while Saldanha was third in her section of the race walk.
