The Southern Maine Flame 18U team won the Diamond Challenge softball tournament in Scarborough last weekend. The Flame won an exciting championship game, an eight-inning, 1-0 victory over the Bay State Brats. Chrystal Shannon (South Portland) drove in Nicki White (Portland) for the only run of the game. Kelsey Griffin (Scarborough) picked up the win, pitching in relief of Michelle Libby (Porter). Leading the offense attack was Kortney Nedeau (Kennebunk), hitting .421 with six RBI over the weekend.
