Quilt to benefit ‘Keep the Heat On’

The Moderation Quilters have donated a handmade, full sized quilt to be raffled to benefit Buxton’s “Keep the Heat On” program.

Dianne Senechal, one of the quilters, said raffle tickets would go on sale on Election Day, June 13, at town hall and will be sold throughout until late November. About 25 people contributed in producing the quilt.

Raffle tickets are $1 each or 6 for $25, with all of the proceeds to benefit the program, helping Buxton residents on fixed incomes with home heating costs. The quilters hope to raise $1,000 for the program through sale of the raffle tickets.

“Keep the Heat On” was started last year by Ed Newell, who launched a town-wide bottle drive to raise money for the program.
