May 29: Windham’s Memorial Day Parade. Parade starts at 9 a.m. at the junction of routes 202 and 302 and ends at Windham High School. Parade is followed by a wreath laying service in front of the Veterans Memorial in back of the high school. Music provided by Windham High School Marching Band and Windham Elementary School Chorus.
May 29: Annual Memorial Day celebration. Memorial service in memory of all American war dead. Event held at 1 p.m. at G.A.R. (Grand Army of the Republic) Hall on Cape Road in Standish. For more information, call 642-2382.
May 31: The Greater Bridgton Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce hosts a panel discussion debating the Property Tax dilemma in Maine. 7 p.m. at Lake Region High School.
June 3: The Little Meetinghouse on Route 302 in North Windham is holding a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Those wishing to take advantage of Route 302 frontage for their yard sale items can participate by paying $25 per space. The Little Meetinghouse Corporation is currently raising money to restore the steeple. Call Phyllis Smith at 892-3059 or Jerry Black at 892-4981 to reserve a space.
