Bean supper Saturday
The North Congregational Church of Buxton, 22 Church Hill Road in Groveville, will have a baked bean supper 5-6:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 20. Cost is $6, $3.
The menu includes beans, red hot dogs, casseroles, coleslaw, pies and beverages.
McMann in dance company
Jessica McMann is a member of the senior dance company at Drouin Dance Center in Westbrook.
The company has won several awards in competition this year. The dance center’s recital will be on Saturday, June 3, at South Portland High School.
‘Fiddler’ at Bonny Eagle
Bonny Eagle High School recently presented “Fiddler on the Roof.”
The show is based on the stories of Sholem Aleichem. Tevye the milkman was a Jewish peasant in pre-revolutionary Russia, coping with the day-to-day problems of life, his Jewish traditions, his family and state-sanctioned programs.
In the Bonny Eagle High School, Sean McCarthy played Tevye and Amanda Murray played his wife, Golde. Tzeidel was played by Ash Grant; Motel, Stephen Hilton; Hodel, Katie Thomas; Perchek, Taylor Steeves; Chava, Ashley Montgomery; Fietka, Kyle Skillin; Lazar Wolfe, Ansel Hague; Yentel the Matchmaker, Melwassa Kennwaston; Grandma Tzeidel, Alyssa Avery; Mordcha the Innkeeper, Andrew Cardamone; Fruma-Sarah, Megan Burnell; and Kat Pagano as the fiddler.
Brianne Boutillier was the stage manager. Stephanie Yum was student choreographer for two numbers and Becky Bartlett ran the lights. Other cast members included Brian McCarthy, Krwasten Saunders, Dan Byrne, Justin Adams, Tim Dupre, Jennifer Murray, Gretchen Sjulander, Ashleigh Higgins, Paul Roy, Alexander Szatkowski, Joey Clark, and Jessica Silver.
The production staff included Jacob Good, Natalie Smith, Courtney Bruce, Jessica Delvecchio, Amanda Tartaglio, Jackie Butland, Tom Belanger, Ben Anderson, and Katie Roy.
The musicians were Don Liedke, director; Allen Thomas, Stephanie Pomerleau, Eric Favreau, Ben Roy, Matt Bolton, Artemus Foster, and Melwassa Kaplar. Gina Cardamone did the program.
The musical was directed by Peggy McAdams and choreographed by Mary Ellen Shaper.
