Newborn babies are adorable. I know because I had four of them over a period of 10 years when I was “young and beautiful.” However, no reporter ever chased me around Westbrook to take my picture when I was pregnant. No reporter rushed to the hospital hoping to get a picture of one of my new babies. No reporter ever ran up to my husband to see how he was surviving this new birth.

Why not? If being pregnant is such a newsworthy event that newspapers and magazines all over the country are rushing around to get a exclusive, it would seem like they could stand on any street corner, in any city in America, and find a pregnant lady!

Oh, you say! But they are not popular movie stars and personalities. Is it any harder for them to get pregnant (or impregnate) than it was for me and nearly every other man and woman? Is it more important that we see a picture of their new baby? I don’t think so. Actually, if the new father walked into the hospital nursery and looked over 25 or more newborn babies, I’ll bet he couldn’t even pick out his own.

This whole subject is ridiculous and I could care less about Tom Cruise and the fact that he was able to “make” a baby. I might be interested a “wee bit” more if he was marrying the mother.

I believe there is more to read and hear about than this subject. Enough already.

Phew, I finally got that off my chest.

Thanks.
