Gorham police are hunting for a man who robbed the Big Apple on Main Street early Monday.

Detective Lawrence Fearon said the robber made off with an undetermined amount of cash and cigarettes after closing the store clerk in a cooler at 3:30 a.m. The robber spoke briefly with the clerk before getting him to enter the cooler.

Police said the robber did not display a weapon and the robber left in an unknown direction.

The robber was described as a white man about 35 years old and 5’11” with brown, medium-length hair and blue eyes. The robber, who had a scruffy beard, was wearing a red and white flannel shirt and blue jeans.
