The photo on the left is from the late 1960s and it shows George’s Esso Service Center, which was operated by George Glicos at the corner of Main and Stroudwater streets.

Cumberland Farms Inc., of Canton, Mass., purchased the business and demolished the building to make way for a Cumberland Farms store. Several years ago, that store was demolished and a larger store was built on the site.

Prior to building at this site, Cumberland Farms operated a store on the first floor of 822 Main Street, which was located opposite Ash Street.
