The Windham Lions Club is offering one $1,000 scholarship to a student graduating in 2006. The student must be living in Windham and attending a local high school, public, private or home schooled. The graduating senior must have demonstrated participation in community service during their high school years.
In order to be eligible for this scholarship, you must write an essay no longer than two typed written pages on: “Community service that you have participated in, what impact it has had in your life and how it has affected the choice you made in your college path and/or career path.”
This scholarship is strictly merit-based and not financial based. The money will be awarded upon successful completion on your first semester with a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
The essays must be sent to:Windham Lions Club Scholarship Committee, P.O. Box 448, Windham, Maine 04062. All essays must be postmarked no later than May 20, 2006.
