Season outlook: “If they want to give me everything then they’ll win the states. This is an extremely talented group of girls. If they they want to play hard and stay close as a team and not get hung up on the little things, they’ll be great. We’ll see how the leadership comes through.”
Boys Lacrosse
Coach: Mike Edgar (1st year)
Spring 2005 record: 6-6
How did last season end? Lost to Cheverus in the first round of the playoffs
Key players: “It would be difficult for me to point to any individual players at this time as we are just getting started.”
Season outlook: “South Portland is going through big changes this year. We are fully sponsored by the school for the first time ever. In addition, we have an entirely new coaching staff … We graduated a bunch of good seniors, including Joe Yoon, an outstanding goalie. We have a good core of returning veterans and it should be a great season.”
Girls Lacrosse

Season outlook: “Our team is young, large with over fifty boys, and I expect it to be quite competitive. It will be difficult to match last year’s record, but we will certainly try.”
