Cutline for pic-Winterguard

The Westbrook High School Winter Guard took first place in the Independent Regional A division this weekend at the New England Championships held in Dartmouth, Mass. The New England Scholastic Band Association sponsored the championship.

The first place finish follows a four star finish at the Maine Band Directors Association finals the previous week held at Biddeford High School. The winter guard unit consists of 19 students from Westbrook, Brunswick, and Deering High Schools. The Winter Guard is under the direction of Gloria Johnson and Margaret Pitt, assisted by Wayne Malloy, Liz Limmer, and Andrew Bard.
