I am not surprised at the backlash against Christians at all (Waves of Faith article by Grant Swank in the Mar. 24 edition of the Lakes Region Weekly). I am one and it states in the book of Revelation that in the end times, Christians are going to be persecuted.

There’s no sense in complaining as the Lord warned us of this in the scriptures. All the signs are there depicting that we are in the end times. All we can do is live our lives as He advised us with love and humility for our fellow “ignorant” men, women and children and feel sorry for them. Ignorant does not mean stupid. It means uninformed. Their spiritual eyes and ears are closed as well as their hearts.

Can you imagine going through this life not knowing the purpose why you are here and facing the prospect of ceasing to exist after you die? Well, that’s what non-believers face. Christians face going to our rest in a place called Paradise where our deceased loved ones are. It’s a beautiful place of peace, harmony and rest. Oh what a reunion that will be! So let them hold to their philosophy and reap as much happiness as they can while amassing material wealth that cannot be taken with them. “Store up thy treasures in Heaven…” They will be given another opportunity in the Spirit World to receive “The Gospel” and let’s hope they accept it.

My second favorite holiday is coming up, and I plan to celebrate the resurrection of Christ in church with fellow believers. And if I want to pray in public, I will. We still have freedom of speech, the last time I checked. Don’t forget my fellow believers that we are soldiers in the Army of Christ – fight on. Satan knows he doesn’t have much time left so he and his cohorts are trying to snatch as many of God’s children away from Him as they can. It’s the age-old fight between good and evil.

We have free will, a gift from our Father, and we can choose to do good or to do evil. It’s entirely up to the individual. But this I can promise you, no one, no matter how intimidating, will ever get me to deny my Lord and Savior, even if it costs me my life. He suffered in agony for me and I owe my life to Him. I am proud to be a Christian.
