Swimming all-stars named

A slew of local athletes are among those named to the Southern Maine High School Swim League all-conference team. Scarborough athletes honored include Doug Endrizzi (50 free, 100 free, 400 FR, 200 MR), Casey Brucken (100 fly, 100 back, 200 FR, 200 MR), Nicole Glab (100 breast, 500 free, 200 FR, 400 FR), Nicole Harmon (100 back, 200 IM, 200 MR), Carrie Chykaliuk (50 free, 200 FR, 200 MR) and Sarah Reynolds (100 back). Cape honorees include Kinsey Tarbell (50 free, 100 free, 200 FR, 400 FR), Laura Williamson (diving), Rosie Wennberg (200 FR), Nora Daly (200 free, 500 free, 200 FR, 400 FR), Alexandra Ciraldo (200 FR), Nick Daly (200 free, 200 FR, 500 free. South Portland’s Kyle Crozier (100 breast, 200 MR) was also selected. In addition, the following were named all-academic: Scarborough’s Noah Cohen, Doug Endrizzi and Laura Wood, and South Portland’s Adam Lewandowski.

Legion baseball meeting

A meeting will be held Friday for those interested in playing Legion baseball for the Libby-Mitchell Post 76 team. The meeting begins at 5:30 and will be held at the Scarborough Public Library, 48 Gorham Road. Any 15-19 year old who lives in Scarborough, Windham, Buxton or Standish can try out for the team. Also, players cut by other Legion teams are eligible to try out, as are those who played for Libby-Mitchell in 2004 or 2005, but may not live in those towns any more. Youth hoop meeting

There will be a meeting Saturday for anyone interested in establishing independent or travel league basketball teams for third and fourth grade boys. The meeting begins at 12:30 and will be held at the offices of Jones & Warren, Oak Hill Professional Building, 243 U.S. Route 1.
