With the arrival of spring, many residents are looking to clean up their yards. There is a drop-off area for yard debris items at the Westbrook Public Services yard at 371 Saco St.

The items eligible for drop off are as follows:

Tree Branches/Brush – branches that are 3 inches or less in diameter. There is a limit of one pickup truck load.

Leaves and grass clippings- Biodegradable leaf bags may be placed in the roll-off container or residents may empty leaves or grass clippings directly into the container

Garden debris

Residents are limited to one pick up truckload of branches and limbs per residence.

The drop off area will be open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. through May 12.

No plastic bags will be accepted at the drop-off facility. In the event that the leaves are bagged, it is the resident’s responsibility to empty the bags and dispose of them unless biodegradable bags are used, those bags can be placed in the leaf receptacle.

This program is for noncommercial Westbrook residents only, proof of residency will be required (car registration, drivers license, or tax bill receipt).

This is not an area for household waste and/or cleanup items. There will not be a large item pick up this year. Residents may dispose of large items and other debris at Riverside Recycling Center, 910 Riverside St., Portland, phone 797-6200.
