The sixth, seventh, and eighth grades at Bonny Eagle Middle School participated in the thirteenth annual Pi Day Math Celebration. Pi Day was held on Tuesday, Mar. 14.

The reason that Mar. 14 is a special day is that it refers to the number 3.14, or Pi, which is an infinite variable deriving from the Greek numerical system. The middle school celebrates this day to foster creativity and enjoyment of mathematics by students. Participation is encouraged by using imaginative alternative ways of doing math. Students write essays and make special projects which are judged. The categories are: poster, model, project, game/puzzle and essay, song, video and poetry.
