Season highlight: “Beating Leavitt and Yarmouth. Also, Tim Clark having a 100-point season while becoming the schools all-time goals and scoring leader on a very small and young team.”

Coach’s comment: “This was a great group of close-knit, young, hard- working kids. We will look to get better over the course of next year while remaining small in numbers and large on playing time. We will prepare for a large in-coming class to boost numbers and success rate in the following year of 2007-2008.”

Boys Basketball

2006 record: 5-13

Coach: Tony DiBiase

Season highlight: Four-game winning streak at the end of the year, then lost in overtime to Kennebunk, a tournament team, and lost by to two Windham, another tournament team.

Seniors: David Seavey, Dustin Dow, Chris King, Kevin Tait

Awards: David Seavey – all league honorable mention; Coleman Finlay – third-team all league

Coach’s comment: “I think, simply, that this was your basic rebuilding year. We only had one returning player that had played, so we played six sophomores and juniors. We have a lot of kids coming back with experience and talent. We not only were the youngest team in the league, but we also had the toughest schedule. We had to play Portland, Cheverus and Deering two times each, This was a senior-dominated league, so I think it bodes well for the future that we’re so young. Hopefully, we should be able to benefit from that and be right back up there next year.”

Girls Basketball

2006 record: 17-4

Season highlight: Western Class A runner up

Girls Indoor Track

Season highlight: Kathryn Card (55 hurdles), Abbey Cook (one mile), Kirsten Bakke (one mile) and Lindsay Soule (400) all qualified for the state meet.

Awards: Lindsay Soule (outstanding runner, SMAA all star and Southwester champ in the 600).

Coach’s comment: “This year’s team was very young, but it improved each week. They were dedicated, trained hard and had fun.”

Coach’s comment: “It was a young team that improved dramatically from the year before. We’re looking forward to build next year with more numbers. That’s what we need, more numbers.”

Coach’s comment: “We need more people involved in the sport of swimming. The girls had a harder time adjusting to a new coach, so hopefully that will get better next season. We’re looking forward to strong off-season workouts and getting stronger in the pool next year.”
