Boys Basketball
2006 record: 17-3
Coach: Jim Ray
Season highlights: “I think it was the way we finished down the stretch with Greely, York and Falmouth. Those were three very competitive games and we won them all. Particularly, senior night against Falmouth was great.”
Seniors: Nick Ray, Kevin Martin, Matt Allen, Ben Poirier, Liam O’Shea, Joe Geoghegan, Ben Rautenberg, Andrew Webster
Awards: Kevin Martin – coach’s award; Matt Allen – Kevin Brady Memorial Award; Joe Geoghegan – team co-MVP; first-team all WMC, McDonald’s senior all-star, academic all-state; Liam O’Shea – team co-MVP, second-team all WMC
Coach’s comment: “There were high expectations put on us from the very beginning, but you still have to play the games. In the postseason meetings I had with the players I talked about how I think our mental preparedness was there sometimes and not others. But when you step back and reflect it was just a fantastic group of kids. It’s easier said than done to bring that intensity every night. So I told the kids and parents at our end of the year banquet that I’m so lucky to have such quality kids.”
Girls Basketball
2006 record: 3-16, lost to Mountain Valley in the preliminary round of the Western Maine Conference playoffs
Coach: Ron Keirstead
Season highlight: Getting into the playoffs
Seniors: Rachel Budkiewicz, Samantha Welch
Awards: Rachel Budkiewicz – team co-MVP; Brennan Balfour – team co-MVP, third-team all WMC
Coach’s comment: “It was a pretty good season. We competed with a lot of teams and just didn’t finish at the end of those games. We had nine games that were decided by 10 points or less. It was disappointing at times. In games that we should’ve won, it didn’t happen. But overall I thought the player’s played their hearts out for me.”
Boys Ice Hockey

Coach’s comment: “Basically, we started off with a tough schedule and we had problems. We were 5-6 at one point and we dealt with a lot of problems, internal and external mid-season. We were trying to find an identity and the seniors took over. We needed people to step up and the seniors did. It was just a tremendous attribute to what they were able to do.”
Girls Ice Hockey
2006 Record 10-10
Coach Cade Blackburn
Season Highlight Our best effort of the year was against Greeley, a 3-0 shutout.
Seniors Julia Elliott, Stephanie Desantos, Hanna Landis and Sarah Landis
Awards MVPs: Hanna Landis and Sarah Landis; Most Improved: Emma Logan
Coach’s Comment “The seniors were very effective leaders on and off the ice, so I think the younger girls learned a lot from them. We’ll need the younger players to step up next year and take more responsibility. Everyone had fun this year and each person contributed to the success of the team; from solid effort in games and practices to fundraising, it all counts. If we can continue to improve our skills and learn to play better as a team then we should see more success in the future.”
