Visitors enjoy Arizona

Jacqueline Richards and Rachel Nolette along with Joe and Charlene Nappi visited Arizona in February.

Richards said it was her first plane trip which she enjoyed ‘tremendously.” While in Arizona, they stayed with her oldest son, David Churchill. She said he has lived in Arizona for 11 years and loves it there. She said the weather was warm and beautiful but the area was lacking rain.

The group visited many attractions in Arizona including the Tucson Gem Show. Richards said the highlight was when they went to Pinnacle Peaks, a western-themed restaurant. “If you were wearing a necktie, they would cut it off,” she said.

They are planning on going back to Arizona next February.

News from Florida

Pete and Stella Blanchette recently send a card from their winter home in LaBelle, Fla.

He said that he hadn’t yet been to Fiddler’s Green, an Irish pub and eatery in Winter Park, Fla. Also, he said everything is under control in Port LaBelle – the locks are working, the sampans are going up and down the Caloosahatchee River, the Swamp Cabbage Festival is over and the natives are calm.

What could be better than that?

Blanchette said he’s reading “Lawrence of Arabia” and eating rice pudding.

Panera Bread of Westbrook recently presented a $4,000 check to Mission Possible Teen Center. The money will be used to further the center’s mission of providing a safe support system fostering positive development and healthy decisions.

“We believe that the universal spirit of bread is sharing,” said Mitchell Roberts of Panera Bread. “Through programs like Operation Dough-Nation, we can ensure that every purchase at Panera Bread feeds back into the community through worthy organizations such as Mission Possible Teen Center.”

The Westbrook cafA?© originally collected $2,000 from customers through the in-store canisters. Then Panera Bread matched its customers’ donations dollar for dollar.
