Did you know that if you applied for a Homestead Exemption, your property taxes were reduced by more than $200 this year?

Residents can check to see if they are receiving a Homestead Exemption by looking at the “current billing information” section on their tax bill.

Any homeowner whose principal residence is in Maine, may be entitled to a Homestead Exemption on their taxes.

In order to qualify for a Homestead Exemption, residents need to fill out a Homestead Exemption application and return it before April 1. Any residents who would like to receive an application or have any questions about the Homestead Exemption, can stop by the Assessor’s office at Westbrook City Hall, or call them at 854-9105.
