A panel focusing on the effect that living in poverty has on education and learning will be hosted by USM’s College of Education and Human Development on March 8 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., in Room 301, Bailey Hall, on the Gorham campus. “Understanding Poverty and Its impact in Maine: Voices from the Community” is the final panel in the yearlong series that focuses on the social, educational, and economic effect of poverty in Maine. The panel is free and open to the public.

Each panelist will offer a brief presentation followed by roundtable sessions, during which members of the audience will have the opportunity to discuss issues raised with the presenters.
