Do you think a United Arab Emirates-owned company should be in charge of U.S. ports?
Ed Huff, 63, Windham
“Yes and no. I think President Bush should have gone through the 45-day waiting period. If they prove to be safe, I don’t see a problem with it. I don’t want to condemn the administration but I think he should have gone through the proper process.”
Valerie Higgins, 44, New Gloucester
“No, it’s not a good idea. I don’t think (President Bush) should have sent Americans over into the war to begin with. I think he should bring them home. He needs to protect the United States’ land and not be so free to give it away.”
Joe Ruminski, 65, South Casco
“No, it’s a pretty bad idea. Why push our luck? We have enough problems with security in this country already.”
Rita Rankin, 65, West Baldwin
“I think it’s a very bad idea. If there’s a possible security risk, it’s not worth taking the chance.”
Judy Huff, 70, Gray
“No! Why should we have a foreign country in control of our ports? It doesn’t make sense to me.”
Linda Monaghan, 45, Windham
“I like President Bush a lot. I think he’s done a great job. I just disagree with letting the Arabs take over port control.”
