Connolly performs at teen center benefit

Heather Connolly, who is with the New York Metropolitan Opera, will be the featured guest in a talent show hosted by Trinity Lutheran Church, 612 Main St., at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25. The proceeds will be donated to the Mission Possible Teen Center.

Connolly is the daughter of church choir member Cheryl Connolly.

Roger Knight will be master of ceremonies. Trinity Choir and Music Director Betty McIntyre has brought together the talent of several church members and friends for an evening of entertainment. There will also be instrumental pieces, a little comedy and entertainment for all.

Brenda Orach, social ministry chairperson at the church, said the event is being sponsored by a service team of the local Thrivent Financial for Lutherans chapter. They are a Fortune 500-membership organization that helps nearly 3 million members achieve their financial goals and gives back to their congregations and communities.

Admission is a suggested donation of $5 or more. The church has applied for grant to match the donations received at the show. Orach said the Mission Possible Teen Center would be instrumental in helping get the word out about the show and possibly provide some talent from the local teens.
