To make sure teachers have the tools they need to improve the literacy skills of their students, Bonny Eagle has developed a Professional library that provides tools and resources for teachers.

The staff development library will support the work of teachers by providing professional books and magazines. It also includes multiple copies of books that address the literacy focus of the school.

Starting in June of 2005, school-wide staff developed a literacy initiative. Co-chairs of the Literacy Strategies Committee are Martha Jackson and Dan Murphy. Five staff development days during the current school year are being devoted to literacy strategies in the subject content areas.
