Use energy wisely
The hurricanes that devastated our neighbors in the South, also disrupted the natural gas supply that is used in the production of electricity.
The electricity supply in New England is being closely monitored and alerts may be issued this winter asking for you to temporarily reduce your usage.
The state will issue Power Warning alerts, if necessary. You may be asked to reduce usage during certain periods of time. The following tips may help you.
• Turn off all unnecessary lights, computers, copiers and other office equipment.
• Delay doing laundry and running the dishwasher until after 8 p.m.
• Turn off any electric space heaters that are on.
• Keep cooking and bathing to a minimum until after 8 p.m.
