Robie Hall opened in 1898 as a dorm at the Gorham Normal School, now the Gorham campus of the University of Southern Maine.

Frederick Robie of Gorham, a former Maine governor, contributed $2,000 towards construction of the building, which bears his name. The building still serves as a dorm.
