Casco Public Library is offering a series of winter workshops designed to acquaint participants with new knowledge or skills. This Sunday’s workshop is “Vegetarianism” or “What do you eat?” Lisa Willey, a longtime vegetarian, will be discussing how she chooses and prepares food for her active family. This is a chance to ask questions and understand the principles of vegetarian nutrition. There is no charge for the workshop, which will run from 2 to 4 p.m.

Willey is also facilitating a new book group, Environmental Health, which will focus on various issues surrounding this topic. During the first meeting, Willey will show a movie that raises important questions about current eating trends. This will be followed by a discussion. The list of suggested readings will be available at this meeting. The group is scheduled for 4 p.m. this Sunday afternoon. Call the library for more information.
