Adam Crosby and Nicole Zimont, residents of Haven Road in Windham, are the proud recipients of the first baby born in the Lakes Region in 2006.
The couple welcomed their new baby girl, Vanessa Marie Crosby, to the world on Jan. 4 at 10:08 in the morning.
Crosby, 28, an accountant with Citigroup in Portland, says Vanessa arrived weighing 8 pounds, 4 ounces after about three hours of labor. Zimont, 22, is a dental assistant for Dr. Jeffrey Feingold in Portland.
“It’s an amazing experience,” says Crosby. “We just got home, and we’re all pretty tired right now, but I’m pretty sure that pretty soon we’ll get into a routine.”
The new baby girl is Zimont’s second child and Crosby’s first. Zimont has a son, Jordan, who will be 5 years old in February. Grandparents include Debra and Louis Godin of Windham, Ellen Frederick of Portland and Thomas Zimont of Raymond.
“It’s an amazing experience. I can’t really compare it to anything else,” Crosby said, “It’s very powerful, it’s hard to put into words.”
