This building was located at 872-874 Main Street.

Built in the 1840’s by Dana Brigham, the building was referred to as the Brigham Block and Brigham Hall.

The top floor of this building was used for Catholic Masses from 1873 until 1879 when St. Hyacinth Church was built on Brown Street.

This photo shows the building when it was occupied by Porell’s Westbrook Remnant Store, Cloverdale Grocers and the Men’s Shop.

Urban Renewal purchased the building and it was slated for demolition when it was destroyed by a spectacular fire in January 1978.

CVS Pharmacy now occupies this location.
