A Brown Street man is being held in the Cumberland County Jail following his arrest on charges of gross sexual assault on Christmas night.
David E. Deshon, 50, was arrested following an incident where he allegedly forced a woman to perform a sex act at a Brown Street residence, according to police.
Police Chief Paul McCarthy said Deshon and the victim, whose name was not released, lived together as roommates in the Brown Street apartment, but they were not involved in a relationship. McCarthy said Deshon and the victim were the only ones in the apartment at the time of the incident.
In addition to the charges of gross sexual assault, McCarthy said Deshon was also charged with domestic assault, violation of bail conditions and obstructing the report of a crime. He appeared in court on Dec. 27, and he is being held in the Cumberland County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail.
