Ms. Roberts should do a little more research and use her head before damning the PWD for trying to protect our water. Mr. Billington claims that the water in the lake is better than it was 10 years ago. The town of Standish has done absolutely nothing to protect the water; so, if it really is better, we can thank the PWD for their efforts.
After the court ruled in favor of the PWD, the town of Standish sent in their Public Works crew to grade the parking lot. Then, the PWD gave the order to cease and desist. Billington said that the PWD should have waited for the appeals process. Well, shouldn’t that also apply to actions by the town of Standish.
You’re on the wrong side of this controversy between Standish Town Mamagement and the PWD. They have generated so much hate for the PWD over the years, that they feel that the only way to keep their jobs is to continue to try to assail the PWD in any way possible. Including trying to steal land from them.
The last town manager lost his job for reportedly wasting taxpayers dollars. I wonder how much more Billington and the Town Council will be allowed to waste, on a venture that the court has already declared has no basis, before the taxpayers wise up and realize that this town management team is costing us too much unnecessary money.
