Library art
Artist Varvara Harmon will be displaying her artwork over the next six months at the Windham Public Library. Each month between now and the end of April, Harmon will have a rotating display of her pieces, photography, oils, acrylics, watercolors, pen and inks and prints (not neceessarily in that order). Beginning wth the first display of photographs, Harmon’s work has certainly brought a slpash of color to the library walls.
Service
The Friends Church will be holding a candlelight service Christmas Eve from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. All are welome.
60 years
Josie Morrell and her sister Nathalie Lombard attended Grange in Naples on Dec. 15. There was a supper and then the meeting. During the meeting Josie received a certificate from the State Master for being a member of the Grange for 60 years. Her sister received a certificate for being a member for over 60 years.
Anniversary
Bob and Barbara Muir celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary on Dec. 15. They spent a quiet day watching movies and enjoying their Christmas tree.
Visit
George Libby came today from New York for the holidays. He will stay with his mother and also visit other family members. George will return home on Monday, the 26th.
Home
Harriet Haskell is home from college until January. She will then go to Tennessee for a one-semester internship at the Silver Bullet Cattle Company located in Cedar Hills, Tennessee.
Christmas Party
Lew and Joanne Weatherby attended her parents’ (Paul and Betty Estes) annual Christmas party on Dec. 17. There were about 30 family and friends enjoying the evening. Betty was especially excited to receive a Christmas ornament of her favorite NASCAR driver, Jeff Gordon. The food was great and a good time was had by all.
Honor Society
The following students were inducted into the National Honor Society at Windham High School on Dec. 15. They are chosen for membership in the distinguished society because of outstanding accomplishments in scholarship, leadership, character and service. Seniors: Amanda Greeley, Sean Lavery and Amy Rousse. Juniors: Whitney Adams, Heather Bisesti, Megan Brown, Nathaniel Butler, Zach Cantor, Kelsey Cummings, Klaus Dobra, Katie Eastman, Hannah Gallagher, Matthew Hodge, Kate McPheerson, Ciaran Shaughnessy, Lena Smith and Carl Van Doren.
