Anniversary
Carol Ann and Carl Currie will celebrate their seventh anniversary on Dec. 19. They will spend a few days in Vermont with her mother.
Meeting
The Rebekahs will meet Dec. 21 at the Odd Fellows Hall at 7:30 p.m. The program will be “What is Christmas” and the program chair is Joan Labbe. This will be their annual Christmas party. They will exchange gifts and everyone will bring Christmas goodies.
Veterans
The Windham Veterans Center has four beautiful granite benches facing the monuments in the Veteran’s Memorial Park that are on short-term loan from Swenson Granite Works in Westbrook. If you have a veteran you would like to remember in a special way, you can purchase one of the benches for the price of $325 and the Windham Veterans Association will install a nameplate per your instrutions. An example would be “IN HONOR Of veterans name DONATED BY your name.” These would make a great Christmas remembrance for a veteran. You may call the Veterans Center at 892-1159 and leave a message if interested. Don Swander will return your call.

Elsie Haskell had hip replacement surgery on Dec. 8 at the Mercy Hospital. She then went to Brighton ReHab Center and then home.
Christmas Party
Pat Riley entertained Rita Bernier, Josie Morrell and Addie Hall on Dec. 10 for their annual Christmas meeting. They exchanged gifts, enjoyed great food, and played cards. These ladies are all retired Windham school bus drivers.
Anniversary
Lew and Joanne Weatherby celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary on Dec. 5. They enjoyed dinner with friends at Thatcher’s Restaurant.
Birthday
There was a 50th birthday party for Chuck Varney at the Veterans Center on Dec. 10. His actual birthday was Dec. 2. Sixty family and friends enjoyed dancing to the music of ZEBRA, eating and cocktails. Happy 50th, Chuck.
