City Council President Jim Violette, right, and Councilor Ann Peoples, left, were honored for their longtime service to the city by Mayor Bruce Chuluda at the City Council meeting on Dec. 5.

Peoples, who did not run for reelection, and Violette, who was unsuccessful in his bid to unseat Chuluda, attended their final regular City Council meeting that evening. Chuluda presented them both with plaques thanking them for their service.
