Christmas pageant in Groveville
Two Buxton churches will unite again this year to produce their second annual Children’s Christmas Pageant at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18, at the North Congregational Church in Groveville.
Children from the Buxton Methodist Church and the North Congregational Church will play the parts of angels, shepherds, wise men, Mary and Joseph. The senior choirs will also sing.
Last year, the play was produced outside with living animals. But because of the snow cover this year, the event will be staged inside.
Refreshments will be served and everyone is welcome to attend.
Shelter closing, 3 dogs without homes
The director of Little Paws Animal Shelter, 27 Portland Road, Buxton, is seeking homes for three dogs before the shelter closes this week.
Following a foreclosure, Eva Allen will hand over keys to the shelter at 3 p.m. on Friday.
She said a 2-year-old plot hound female, a 2-year-old Australian shepherd mix female and 1-year-old Jack-Russell-smooth-coated-Collie mix were still available for adoption.
