Windham police are not ruling out the possibility that two burglaries in North Windham this week are connected.

Tanorama Suntanning Center and Sebago Gardens were robbed within a few days of each other. Someone gained entry through a basement door to Tanorama at 11:35 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30. Someone got in through a window at Sebago Gardens during the night of Friday, Dec. 2.

Tanorma’s burglar alarm sounded when the burglar first gained access. A Windham K-9 unit responded and commenced a track which ended after the dog lost the scent in some woods behind Sebago Plaza.

According to Windham Lt. David DeGruchy, K-9 Officer Bill Andrew found several items from Tanorama strewn in the woods.

“He found some miscellaneous items while doing the track – rubber dish gloves, a knife, plastic grocery bags, knit cap, some women’s clothing,” DeGruchy said.

The break-in at Sebago Gardens wasn’t reported until the next morning when staff got to work. According to DeGruchy, the burglar got away with about $20 in coin change.

Police currently have no suspects in the cases and are still investigating.
