Historical Society
A reminder that there will be no meeting of the Historical Society in December. They do have Windham coverlets and books for sale that would make great gifts. For more information contact Kay Soldier at 892-5381 or Betty Winslow at 842-4062.
Thank You
Beulah Mason, of Varney Mill Road, would like to thank the person that cleaned up her trash on Dec. 1. She had put it out and an animal got into it and made a mess. She noticed it and went to get her coat and when she went out someone had stopped and cleaned it all up. It helped her a great deal.
Home
Patrick Philpot, son of Raymond and Gloria Philpot, was home over the Thanksgiving holiday. He has since returned to Middlebury College in Vermont, where he is a senior.
To Florida
Jennifer and Bill Tom have returned home to Florida after spending Thanksgiving with family here. They visited with many members of her family while here.
Birthday
Members of the “Friendly Helpers” of the Friends Church gave Marge Skinner a 90th birthday party on Nov. 27. Her actual birthday was Nov. 30. There were many friends and relatives who attended. There was a display of old family photos that she really enjoyed. They had refreshments including birthday cake, and Kerry Dyer even did a few special songs for her. She also had a party earlier at a church in Gorham.
Lost
If you have seen, or taken in, a long-haired yellow cat that is missing in the area of the Smith Road, please contact 892-2031. His name is Sammy and the grandchildren really, really miss him.
