Midshipman Mark Crichton of Windham was recently named to the Maine Maritime Academy Master’s List for the 2005 training cruise. Master’s List Awards were presented during a special ceremony at morning quarters held on Wednesday, Oct. 19.

Crichton was nominated for the award by ship and staff officers based on leadership, professionalism, conduct, and academic excellence displayed both at sea and in the classroom. Final selection was made by Capt. Laurence Wade, master of the T/S State of Maine. This year’s itinerary included Oranjestad, Aruba; Nassau, Bahamas; Quebec, Canada; Boston, Mass.; and an equatorial crossing. The trip covered approximately 11,000 nautical miles with more than 200 students and 55 officers and crew aboard.

Crichton, a graduate of Bangor Christian High School is a member of the MMA Class of 2008. He is majoring in Marine Engineering Technology.
