USM scholarship gala

Students like Richard Marsters of Westbrook will benefit from a scholarship gala, “Home for the Holidays,” 6-10 p.m., on Friday, Dec. 2, in Brooks Student Center on the Gorham Campus at the University of Southern Maine.

“At age 40 with a 9-year-old son, the only way I could go back to school full-time was through the help of a scholarship,” Marsters said. “The faculty and staff in the USM School of Music have more than accommodated my needs as an older student. They have nurtured and supported me through virtually every step of earning my degree.”
