Meeting

The Rebekahs will meet Nov. 16 at the Odd Fellows Hall. This will be “give thanks night.” The program will be Thanksgiving stories and there will be a holiday meal.

Officers

The new officers of the Great Council of Maine Degree of Pocahontas were recently chosen. They are as follows: Great Pocahontas, Shirley Donovan; Great Wenonah, Elsie Haskell; Great Minnehaha, Tina Colby; Great Prophetess, Faye Warman; Great Keeper of Record, Virginia Flaherty; Great Keeper of Wampum, Beverly DiBiase and the Great Trustees are Helen Brooks and Marion Hunter.

Clinic

The will be a flu clinic Nov. 17 at the Community Center gym. The time is from 3 to 5 p.m. The Windham Health Council will be assisting with the clinic.

Birthday

Cora Moody celebrated her birthday Nov. 5. She enjoyed the time with family.

Meeting

The Past Noble grands of the Pinea Rebekah Lodge # 71 met Nov. 9 at the Od Fellows Hall at 7 p.m. They did their planning for the next year.

Contest

The employees of Town Hall held a pumpkin carving contest for Halloween. They carved their pumpkins at home on Sunday and brought them to work on Monday. Tammy Hodgman from the Code Enforcement Office won first place, Linda Morrell, Town Clerk won second place and Joan Hodgon of the Assessing Department took third place. The judging was done by Judy Vance of the Town Clerk’s Office and Brian Wolcott of the Finance Department.

Veterans Center

There has been a lot going on at the Veterans Center lately. Contractors, Boy Scouts, inmates from the Windham Correctional Center, a local nursery, and Windham Public Works, all have donated time and or materials for the development of the Veterans Memorial Park as well as build the road to the Center. Thanks to all who have helped to make this a reality.

Birthday

Carl Currie celebrated his birthday Nov. 6. He spent the day with his wife and they both enjoyed the time with their horses.
