Thank you to the town of Scarborough for coming out to vote in this week’s election and for your strong support. I spoke with many people at the polls this week and am humbled by your encouraging words.
I would also like to extend my congratulations to re-elected and newly elected school board members and members of the board of the Sanitary District. It is an act of courage to put your name out for consideration, and I am thankful that we had a fine field of candidates running for offices in our community.
The extremely close vote for the senior center shows that there is a strong desire to meet senior needs, a concern that we should strive to address as our community facilities projects move forward in the coming year. This spring we will also present our Comprehensive Plan Update and invite you to participate in this important document’s adoption.
There are many opportunities on boards and committees in town to have your voice heard and your energy and expertise put to work for our community. I invite you to check openings on the town’s Web site, www.scarborough.me.us, or call the town clerk’s office (730-4000) for more information.
