This photo was taken on Carpenter Street during the Urban Renewal project. The partially demolished buildings are the rear of the former Day’s Jewelry Store and Marshall Studio on the left and the former Hood’s Drug Store to the right. Buildings in the distance are on Main Street and were, from left to right, McLellan’s deptartment store, Northeast Bank, Portland Gas Company Office (vacant) and the old Westbrook Hardware Building.
