Westbrook’s annual fall leaf and brush removal program is in full swing. Public Services crews will be patrolling neighborhoods and picking up leaves and brush from Oct. 31 through Nov. 12.
Residents are reminded to have brush at the curbside by Oct. 31. Raked leaves should be in biodegradable bags and should be placed near the curb line for pick up. Residents should not rake leaves to the curb line or into the street. Only leaves in biodegradable bags will be collected. A formally scheduled street-by-street leaf vacuuming program will not be undertaken. Public Services supervisors will be dispatching leaf vacuuming crews as leave volumes dictate.
Designated leaf and brush disposal areas will be available to Westbrook residents at the Public Services facility on 371 Saco St. The Public Services disposal facilities will be open from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday though Saturday between Oct. 31 and Nov. 12 (including Veteran’s Day). Disposal facilities will be open for the remainder of November, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Residents are encouraged to call Westbrook Public Services at 854-0660 with questions regarding the fall leaf and brush collection program.
