Jim Violette embodies traditional common sense and work ethic. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of working with Jim on numerous economic development and educational issues. Jim will rely on his background as a financial planner. He will spur economic growth and will seize every opportunity to revitalize Westbrook in a positive manner. Jim knows that economic development and good infrastructure will help keep taxes lower for all residents.

He is family-oriented and very involved with the activities of his three children that attend the Westbrook school system. Education represents a fundamental responsibility for our community and a reason many people move here. Jim will make sure that we invest in the tools we need so our children are successful. In the past there has been reluctance by some city officials to work closely with the people that educate our children, the teachers and administrators. As mayor, Jim will collaborate closely with parents, teachers, and administrators to make sure that our children’s futures are a success. Jim Violette takes our school motto to heart, “One Promise: the best education for all for life.”

Jim has a commitment to public service and all the citizens of Westbrook. He has served the past eight years on the City Council and the last six of them as president of the council. We can all be proud because of his leadership. Jim Violette is the person that can lead Westbrook to a prosperous economy. Some critics always look for the negatives, but Jim always looks to the positive and goes for the goal to move forward for the future.

As assistant majority leader of the Maine House of Representatives and a retired firefighter, it has always been a pleasure to work with Jim Violette on all issues. He is a leader with a vision that would appreciate your support so he can continue to help move Westbrook forward in a manner that we are all proud of.
