The Windham Lions Club is holding its 2nd Annual Halloween 5K/2.5 mile walk on Sunday, Oct. 30 in memory of Bob and Jaynee Whitaker. All proceeds will benefit the Make A Wish Foundation of Maine and the Windham Community Charities.

It will begin at the Windham High School located on Route 202, one mile from the rotary. The starting gun will go off for the 5K Run at noon and will be repeated at 12:05 for the 2.5 mile walk.

The cost for the 5K Race is $12 for pre-registrations or $15 on race day. For the 2.5 mile walk, the cost is $10 for pre-registration, and $12 on the event day.

All participants will receive a Make-A-Wish “Share the Power of a Wish” awareness bracelet. The race course begins and ends at Windham High School Track and is not too difficult, with a fairly tough hill in the first mile, but after that, it is reasonably flat. Awards will be presented to the top male and female finishers, and the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd finishers in the 14/gender groups.
